And maybe she'll find her father while saving all the children ... if he is still alive!

After everything that happened in My Bonkers Mum, Professor Dad, Granny Best and Siggi Sourpuss you might think that my family life has finally calmed down. Well you couldn't be more wrong! The twins have turned my life upside down. And what's even worse: My brother Paul is completely messing up his life!!! I HAVE to save him! for his sake ofcourse, but also (kind of) for myself!!! Thor better not start some trouble. But OH MY GOD, why does it ALWAYS feel like I have to be saving this crazy family of mine!

La Masia. Laaa Maaasiaaa. Or Heaven. We were there. In Heaven. This book should be called Heaven in Barcelona. And it would have if ... oh, doesn´t matter. You´ll understand when you´ve read the whole book.
I´ts been a whole year since the trio from Þróttur FC played at Gothia Cup, when all wnt south and Jón got a bullet in his shoulder. Since then he didn´ tplay much football at all. But now they - Jón, Skúli and Ívar - ar at the FC Barcelona´s Academy. The goal is simple: To get an offer from Barca or go pro with some other major club. Also ... Rósa is playing with the U16 National Team in Barcelona along with some more fantastic football girls. Life could not be any better - if it was not for this mysterious Catalonian and Jon´s secret.

PENALTY
in the Vestman Islands
Jon Jonson and his teammates are one of the visiting teams on a football tournament in the Westman Islands. No less than four volcanoes surround the island and the fifth volcano´s hillsides provide the pitch for the tournament. Scientists warn that there will be an eruption, but where?
Jon doesn´t really believe very much in his own football skills but he can feel his self-confidence grow as the tournament evolves. During the tournament he gets to know a local boy, Ivar, and along with his sister and teammates witnesses domestic violence when Ivar´s father beats him. Even if Ivar is on the enemy team, Jon and his friends decide to do everything in their power to help him, but the local police does not believe them and takes the father´s side. The small town silencing-power threatens to be a serious obstacle. Jon considers himself as a wimpy kid but faced with real fear and violence he grows up faster than he would have wanted and in the end justice prevails.
The tournament spans three immensely exciting days in difficult circumstances and the final match has to be played amidst volcano ashes as thousands of kids and parents watch the final penalty shoot-out.

In Akureyri Jon doesn't only get to know a new side of Ivar but also himself and Ivar's Dad ... Oh and he also gets to know Rosa (but just so we are clear, he does NOT have a crush on her!) The fight continues both on the pitch and off it and for the first time it's not clear who the villain in Jon's story is. Is it maybe Jon himself? Oh and one final thing: WARNING! paper tissue ending (even if you been laughing or nail biting for the rest of the book)!
- Freekick was the NUMBER ONE best selling children's book in 2012.

2013 - OFFSIDE IN REYKJAVÍK
Whops! the girls teams play at this tournament as well. Rosa shows up, hormones are flowing everywhere and Jon is freaking out.
Ivar's dad has hit rock bottom and he drags one of his shady friends from the gutter into the football world. Jon, Skúli, Rosa and all the others have to fight against his cheating as well as Ivars uncle. The tension rises both on the picth and off it and the kids discover that they can be offside in real life as well.
The final game takes place on the street where they play for nothing less than Ivars life.

2014 - YELLOW CARD IN GÖTEBORG
The kids head to Göteborg to compete in the biggest football tournament in the world. This time it's all about: They have to get rid of Ivars dad, get him out of his life. But they also have to win the tournament. AND Jon has to get Rosa back. AND he has to prevent their coach from dying (he dreamt that he would be shot).
Can he do all that? or will he himself die? Is it really possible that Ivars dad can become the hero of the story? can anyone? Can Jon?

Well ... this is where it was suppose to end. Battle in Barcelona came out in 2019 as you can see above.
- Yellow Card was the N best selling children's book in 2014 and 4th in all categories. the numbers sold were twice as much as Offside in Reykjavík.
Jack and George are sent to the country side to George's relatives. Just like before the adventures are a plenty. The guys really want to be of use to help with the many jobs around the farm, but not everyone is as pleased with their help.

There once was a kingdom where everyone was happy, apart from the King and Queen because they were unable to have a child. One day a beautiful woman arrives with a mysterious Cuckoo clock in her arms. She gives the royal couple this clock and says that when the cuckoo sings for the first time they should expect to have a child. But the cuckoo will sing more than once and it is not always a barer of good news.

I wrote this book with BJörgvin Franz Gíslason for the show Stundin Okkar.

ICELAND AT THE WORLD CUP​

Gunnar Helgason has been a devout fan of Iceland´s National Football/Soccer Teams ever since he saw his first game at the age of nine. He couldn´t wait for the World Cup in Russia to begin so he wrote this book to shorten the wait for HIMSELF and for YOU. Here we have interviews with the Icelandic players and all kind of other stuff about WC, past and present; surprise results, historical games and Iceland´s journey to the WC.
